SIFTig 316L Stainless Steel TIG Welding Rod 1.6mm 5 kg tube. supplied in 1000mm cut lengths
The
Weldability-SIF SIFTIG 316L Stainless TIG Rod
is a premium, molybdenum-bearing stainless steel filler rod designed for welding molybdenum-bearing austenitic stainless steels. Its low carbon content provides excellent corrosion resistance and robust, consistent welds for demanding applications. Manufactured to  EN ISO 14343 19 12 3L,  AWS A5.9 ER 316L, BS 2901 316S92 .Batch test certs available on request.
Key Features & Benefits
  • Superior Corrosion Resistance: Contains molybdenum for enhanced resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion by non-oxidising acids.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                          Applications
    The
    SIFSteel 316L TIG rod
is an excellent choice for industries where high strength and exceptional corrosion resistance are paramount.
    • Food Preparation Areas: The high grade of stainless steel is perfect for use in hygienic environments.
    • Marine Applications: The corrosion resistance is ideal for use in saltwater or harsh marine conditions.
    • Chemical and Nuclear Industries: Suitable for joining molybdenum-bearing austenitic stainless steel in corrosive chemical and nuclear environments.
    • Pipe and Plate Fabrication: Commonly used for general fabrication of various stainless steel structures.
Reduced Weld Decay: The low carbon content minimises the risk of carbide precipitation, preventing intergranular corrosion (weld decay) in the heat-affected zone.
  • Versatile Application: Suitable for a variety of applications, including the fabrication of pipe and plate in demanding industries.
  • Consistent and Reliable Welds: Formulated to produce strong, consistent, and reliable welds.
