Metabo Hard polishing rings 623508000 for pre polishing of non ferrous metals. these mops are approx 100m diameter and 10mm wide and fit the 19mm keyed shaft used on a ptx style burnishing machine such as Metabo, Fein, Eisenblatter, Cibo, Flex etc... The hard cotton mops are used in conjuction with the Metabo brown polishing compound which gives a fine cut on non ferrous metals and lubricates the mop eliminating burnout. The mops are "ganged " together to form a wider mop.

Hard cotton mops are less aggresive than sisal mops and are used to polish stainless steels. Can be used for pre polishing before final polishing using Soft cotton mops.

Diameter 100mm, width 10mm with 19mm keyed centre to fit the Metabo SE 12-115 burnishing machine.

These mops must be used in conjunction with brown polishing paste.

Role in the Polishing Process

Stainless steel polishing typically follows a multi-stage progression:

Cutting Stage (Sisal Mops): For removing heavy scratches or 240–600 grit marks, very hard Sisal Mops are used with heavy cutting compounds.
Intermediate Stage (Hard Stitched Cotton Mops): Once the surface is flat, stitched cotton mops are used to remove the "dull" finish left by sisal. They provide the rigidity needed to apply enough pressure to generate heat and refine the metal's surface. use with brown compound.
Final Finishing (Loose Leaf Mops): For a high-gloss or mirror finish, the process transitions to Loose Cotton Mops, which are unstitched and much softer, allowing them to follow contours without leaving visible streaks.
